![]() ![]() For example, if your song is 4 minutes long and you want it to loop from 1:00-3:00, in game and on the Song Manager it will play 0:00-3:00 at the beginning of the match only, then jump from 3:00 to 1:00 and play that loop until the match is over. NOTE: This method of looping preserves the first chunk of the song regardless of where you loop it. Simply check the box titled “Loop” and then use the asterisks to mark the start and end of the loop. Once you have named it, a window will pop up giving you options to loop the track, which is very handy as previously I thought you had to use Audacity (which is more complicated). It will prompt you to name the file, so name it the same letters and numbers as the song you wish to replace (for example, T02). With the Song Manager open (and organized by stage), click and drag the WAV file into the Song Manager. I would have it saved in a folder with all of your other uncompleted music files.įinally it’s time to add the track to the Song Manager. Yes this software can convert from mp3 to brstm but it is important that out file is a WAV so that the Song Manager lets us use the built-in looping & converting software :). Just click "Add" and select your mp3 file. ![]() The quickest way to do so is to download the Looping Audio Converter which should look like this. Now you need to convert the mp3 to a WAV file for the software to work. Once you have downloaded an mp3 to use, I would save it to a folder such as “Not BRSTM Music” so you have all of your unformatted music in one place (also I would definitely put all of these folders under a generic folder like “PM Builds” to keep it organized).ĮDIT2 (upon a discovery that simplified a lot of the original guide shout out to Theytah's old youtube guide lol) If you can find the music you want from those types of sources I would, but if you cannot, the YouTube to mp3 works great. Alternatively, much work has already been done on Smashboards with pre-done tracks that only need to be inserted. Assuming you don’t have an mp3 to use, I would recommend this YouTube to mp3 converter to get whatever music you want fast and easy. Now to add a song, we have to take a few steps back. Some are playable and some aren’t, but that doesn’t really matter. Now you have a list of all stages and the song files associated with each. This is really helpful for organization and I use it all the time. Under the options tab, select “Group Songs by Stage”. It is important to keep in mind that where you open the manager determines its directory, so if you open the manager that’s a part of “Alpha’s Build” it will alter what is in Alpha’s Build. With that done, open the application “Brawl Song Manager”. Now copy all of it and paste it into a folder that has the Vanilla PM folders extracted, which should look like this. ![]() Now, I would extract this all to its own folder named “Brawl Manager” or something, that way you always have it. This will download the Song, Stage, and Costume Managers. Without further ado, how to add custom music to stages in Project M: A modern comprehensive guideįirst, go here and click “Song Manager”, then click “download”, then “BrawlManagers-3.7.1.zip”. Anyways, I thought the community could benefit from a guide that showed how to add custom music from start to finish using one application (and a few helper applications). I didn’t try any other methods besides the Brawl Music Manager because it seemed to have everything and work fine. ![]() This is because many of the resources involved using different applications and such, some for different operating systems and some were just other methods. I did some searching and while I found a lot of resources that ultimately led to my success, it took about 7 hours of work (not counting watching friendlies, eating, etc.) to get to a point of being comfortable with adding custom music to stages in PM. I absolutely wanted to get into it myself, especially the music. My friend had me try out Theytah’s Build and I was captivated by the modding done. I am recently new to PM and love it, absolutely my favorite smash game. ![]()
